Fragile Country Program - We protect people in fragile contexts through rehabilitation programs.

What is Fragile Country?

Fragile contexts are those where the
government cannot or will not fulfil its
responsibilities to protect and fulfil the
rights of the majority of the population,
particularly the poor.
About 14 %of the world’s population and
35% of the poor lives in fragile countries.

Also, 35 % of the poor, 51% of deaths of children under five, 46% of children without primary
education, and 44% of maternal deaths occur in fragile countries.

Fragile Country Program
World Vision Korea conducts holistic rehabilitation programs for fragile countries around the world. The programs' core function includes territorial control, safety and security, capacity to manage public resource, delivery of basic services, and the ability to protect and support the ways in which the vulnerable people - especially women and children - sustain themselves.
Area Rehabilitation Program, ARP
Area Rehabilitation Program, ARP, is to help rebuild fragile countries, especially those that
are suffering from long-broken infrastructure due to civil wars and other reasons.
World Vision’s ARP, based on a holistic approach, is conducted in the most insecure regions around the world, and therefore, a child-sponsorship is not a part of the program, unlike the
case of Area Development Program.
